The Joy of Confidence

Brandon Fisher // June 5 2022

It’s easy for us to live defeated lives. We see our sin and feel defeated. We see the hurt and suffering in the world and feel defeated. We see the evil in the world and feel helpless in the face of it. A defeated life is not a life that is full of joy. God wants us to live with a faith-fueled confidence in this life. This is a confidence that is not rooted in ourselves, but rooted in God, what he’s done, and what he continues to do through us. This is a confidence that has the boldness to look at our sin in the eyes and say God loves me. This is a confidence that has the boldness to look at a very messed up world and say God is in control. And this is a confidence that looks at overwhelming evil in the world (and in us) and has the boldness to say God can use me to make a difference. This is a confident faith and a joyful faith.
