Pastor Keith serves Christ in Keystone Church as the preaching pastor and in a
few other ways. He’s had a ringside seat to God’s work in and through Keystone
having been around since the start of the church in 1993.
His
best friend Betty married him in 1972. They have 3 adult
children-Chalon, Travis, and Cameron and grandchildren. Keith
rides bicycle, hunts whitetail deer, does home projects, writes, and
reads. Favorite authors include John Piper, A.W. Tozer, John Grisham
and Frederick Forsyth. His favorite gun is his .270 Remington 760
Gamemaster. His musical tastes run from Christ-centered praise
songs, to baroque, to some southern gospel, to a cappella music.
Continuing an unapologetic
love affair with the church, his passion is to see people who have come to
genuine faith in Christ, mature in and through the local
church.
“What comes into our minds
when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” -- A.W.

Charlie
WalterExecutive Pastor
cwalter@keystonechurch.org
No one would have thought
of Charlie as being in ministry work, much less calling him “Pastor Charlie.”
His undergraduate degree is in Civil Engineering; his work experience was in
owning and managing a lumber business (Walter and Jackson); and he used to hate
to read. But God used the passion Charlie had in leading youth ministry to draw
him into service for the Kingdom. In 2001, God called him out of the business
world and he began attending seminary. Later that year Keystone hired him as
Pastor of Discipleship, and he completed his Master of Arts in Ministry 6 years
later.
Through many changes, he is
now Executive Pastor. His main duties are: personal ministry (shepherding the
body, counseling, and hospital visitation), leadership of the small group
ministry, oversight of all the staff except the senior pastor, and most of the
administrative work of the church.
He married Liz in 1982, and
they have 2 married children, Jeremy and Jenna, and grandchildren. Charlie’s
somewhat of a thrill seeker, and enjoys whitewater kayaking, skiing, mountain
biking, snorkeling, and tennis. But he’s quick to say that skiing down a chute
or even kayaking through a class 3 rapid, both pale in comparison to seeing a
person surrender his life to Christ. |
