Life is, ultimately, out of our control. So, how do we react to this reality? Do we panic and anxiously wait for the next bad thing to happen? Do we react with cynicism towards the world and its troubles? Or do we rest in the power of God as outlined in Psalm 46? The 46th Psalm is a reminder that God is present in the troubles of life and the world. It reminds us that He is our refuge and He is our strength. This Psalm also reveals that God’s power is so great that neither natural disaster nor war should cause us fear. As we look to this Psalm, let us live its truth out, that we may be bold in knowing “The Lord of hosts is with us!”
