Equipped to Love

1 Corinthians 14 has long been a controversial passage with Christians taking different positions on the gifts described in this passage along with their enduring significance for the church today. While it is important to understand the different positions Christians may take in this area, we can get so caught up in the theological debate that we can forget Paul is calling all of us to use whatever gifts we have been given in a way that builds up the church in dependence on reliance on the Holy Spirit. God gives us spiritual gifts so that we might be equipped to love one another. What does that mean in relation to gifts like prophecy and tongues as well as in relation to all spiritual gifts? How should that shape how we think about and exercise spiritual gifts? Join us this Sunday as we explore these questions in looking together at 1 Corinthians 14.
